A promotional video on the development of the Orion Multi Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV). The video shows the current status, the test performed and the envisioned future applications. Particularly interesting is the section on the Orion Launch Escape System (LES). Development of the Orion capsule began under the now defunct Constellation Program. On May 24, 2011, NASA resumed the development of Orion as a deep space vehicle. Lockheed Martin, developer of the vehicle, urged NASA to commit to a Lunar orbit mission by 2016.
