Tobias Lips

Tobias Lips obtained a Diploma degree in aerospace engineering from the Technical University of Braunschweig (Germany) in 2000. He started his career as a project engineer/manager at Hypersonic Technology Göttingen (HTG; Germany) in 2001. He worked as a re-entry analyst and simulation software developer for many European space missions (ATV, ROSAT, BeppoSAX, TerrarSAR-X, Sentinel-1/2/3/5P/6), predicting the on-ground risk and demonstrating compliance with casualty risk thresholds. He is a member of the German delegation to the IADC (Inter-Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee), and the current co-chair of the IAASS Technical Committee for Launch and Re-entry Safety. Since 2013, Tobias Lips is the Managing Director of HTG.
