Andy Foster is currently a part time safety analyst on the JSC Flight Safety Office Support Team from SAIC. Previously, he served 14 years as lead engineer in the Space Shuttle Safety Flight Operations contractor team and the lead for the safety console in the Mission Engineering Room. Prior to this, he was an astronaut and flight controller trainer specializing in ascent and ascent aborts (10 years). Andy holds FAA Commercial and Instrument pilot and Light Sport Flight Instructor ratings, is an active pilot and former F-14 Radar Intercept Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering degree from Auburn University.
