Wildfires Seen from Space

This footage of wildfires across the western United States was captured from ISS in late June. Colorado has been particularly hard hit in recent weeks. Dry conditions in the region combined with unusually high temperatures have been contributors to the spate although instigation has been blamed on human actors lighting camp fires, incompletely extinguishing cigarettes, and shooting guns. Over 300,000 people have been evacuated from their homes in the Colorado fires.
